You partner with us in Christian Community Development when you purchase this book and the merchandise related to the Him Finding You (HFY) movement.  Your purchase will help support our outreach in Virginia and soon to be beyond. There is still a lot of work to be done in our communities. We are asking you and your church or business to give back to the community by purchasing this book and HFY merchandise.

Community-One is a not for profit organization that was  started by Michael Shearn in Hampton Virginia in 1992. We offered a host of neighborhood programs such as tutoring, GED classes, youth sports and youth group activities, neighborhood clean-up days, health fairs, Annual Community Day, neighborhood planning, crime watch and other events. These activities are in partnership with local churches, businesses, municipalities, schools and civic organizations.  We are currently working in Richmond, Virginia to establish a neighbor outreach and have future plans to expand across the country.

Below is our vision and purpose. If you would like to support us in other ways or want more information about Community-One, our website is: CommunityOneCDC.com.

Thank you for your time and we hope to work with you as an outreach partner in the near future.

INTRODUCTION

There is a crisis in our community.

  • The destruction of the family unit has lead to increased crime and violence.

  • The poor and needy are caught in a cycle of poverty.

  • The inner cities are on a path of continual deterioration.
